Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Day is a monthly initiative implemented in Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) across India. This program serves as a platform to foster interaction between Anganwadi workers, parents, and the community, emphasizing the holistic development of children aged 0-6 years.
Objectives of Monthly ECCE Day:
Parental and Community Engagement: Educate parents and community members about age-appropriate early child care and education practices.
Active Participation: Encourage parents and community members to support and participate in Anganwadi Center activities.
Awareness: Familiarize parents with non-formal, play-based learning methods employed in AWCs.
Child Progress Updates: Inform parents about their child's growth, development, and learning milestones.
Implementation:
The Department of Women and Child Development provides guidelines for conducting day-wise activities in AWCs. These guidelines outline daily programs and emphasize the importance of organizing ECCE Days as a platform for interaction between Anganwadi workers and parents/community members.
Monthly Themes and Activities:
Each month, a specific theme is selected to guide the activities and discussions during ECCE Day.
