Successful Completion of "Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi" Three-Day Training for Anganwadi Workers of Dispur Khanapara ICDS Project

Guwahati, Assam – The Women and Child Development Department, Kamrup, Assam, successfully conducted a three-day training program under the "Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi" initiative for Anganwadi workers of the Dispur Khanapara ICDS project, Kamrup Metro

The training, aimed at strengthening early childhood care and education (ECCE) alongside nutrition, took place with enthusiastic participation from Anganwadi workers dedicated to child welfare.


The "Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi" program, launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, focuses on integrating early education with nutrition in Anganwadi centers. Recognizing the crucial role of the first six years in a child’s life, the training emphasized the importance of a balanced approach to cognitive and physical development.

The training covered key topics, including:

  • Nutritional Needs of Young Children: Understanding age-appropriate diets, the importance of locally available nutritious food, and meal planning at Anganwadi centers.
  • Early Childhood Education (ECCE) Techniques: Interactive and play-based learning methods to enhance cognitive and social development among children.
  • Growth Monitoring & Assessment: Training on tracking the nutritional status and development of children using growth charts and health records.
  • Community Engagement: Encouraging parents and community members to actively participate in children’s early learning and nutritional well-being.

The training program featured practical demonstrations, group activities, and interactive sessions to ensure that Anganwadi workers could apply their knowledge effectively in their centers. Trainers used real-life case studies and role-playing exercises to make learning more engaging and impactful.
